The Democratic Union (DU) is a country on the Internet, a so-called micronation. It is a purely virtual state with businesses, clubs, churches, and a strong focus on politics. With a little help from our imagination, we create this nation in our forum and on websites, and there is next to nothing that is impossible. All walks of life are represented in our community, from environmental activists to CEOs, from religious leaders to socialist idealists, and from ambitious politicians to scheming diplomats. Oh, and of course there are many ordinary citizens with few kind words for their representatives...
An email inbox and a little motivation is all you need to join us. Becoming a citizen is both free and painless. We are always happy to answer your questions about participating and the way things work around here in our board for new citizens. Nothing* stands in the way of your career as a successful politician. Take on other members of parliament, try to lead a state government - and who knows, maybe you have what it takes to become a powerful chancellor? Show us that you know how to navigate the muddy waters of politics, knocking out human opponents and convincing human voters to vote for you!
*) Well, there's one tiny little thing: As most of us are based in Germany, our little game requires a basic knowledge of German. But do not be scared, just give it a try - it certainly is more fun than those boring German lessons!
